Surf Report: Head South for Waves

High tide: 4.0 feet, 10:29 a.m. Low tide: 2.0 feet, 3:08 p.m. Water temperature: 60-62 degrees.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, if you happen to have the time, this might be a good day to get out of town and head down south where there's more swell activity!

We're seeing some pretty clean conditions early on. As far as the waves go, we've got mainly minor south-southwest swell in the water and very little northwest windswell out there.

That recipe is offering some crumbly and fairly weak lines, with some workable ones with the small wave equipment. Most Redondo Beach spots are running about knee- to thigh-high, with the focal points picking up some waist-high and higher sets.

Checking the tide—at 10:29 a.m. it climbs up to a 4-foot high before dropping to a 2-foot low at 3:08 p.m. If you're planning on paddling, throw on a 3/2 mm full suit for at least that morning session, with the water temperature averaging between 60 and 62 degrees. Good luck out there!
