Surf Report: Lacking in Wave Department

Low tide: 0.9 feet, 9 a.m. High tide: 4.2 feet, 4 p.m. Water temperature: 62-64 degrees.

Good Wednesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, this stretch of sand is really lacking in the wave department; we're only seeing a minimal amount of action out there.

We're starting off with some nice and glassy conditions, with a tiny mixture of southwest swell and some minor northwest windswell. That recipe is providing this part of the coast with some gutless little lines, with a few that'll get you going on a stand-up paddleboard or possibly a log.

Most spots in Redondo Beach are pulling ankle- to knee-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling some thigh-high and higher sets. Checking the tide—at 9 a.m. this morning it drops to a 0.9-foot low, which will have many spots desperate for water and very inconsistent throughout mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 4.2-foot high at 4:10 p.m.

If you're itching for a salt water bath, throw on no more than a thin full suit with  the water temperture averaging between a comfortable 62 and 64 degrees. Good luck out there!
