Surf Report: Small Surf Lingers

Low tide: 1.3 feet, 9:26 a.m. High tide: 5.2 feet, 4:26 p.m. Water temperature: 65-68 degrees.

Good Friday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's that time of year where this stretch of sand isn't going to see much in the way of waves; we're looking at more minimal energy out there.

We have some fairly clean conditions early on, with some texture on the water at some spots. Taking a look at the waves—we have a combination of some slow building southwest swell and some minimal residual northwest windswell out there.

That recipe is providing this neck of the woods with some fairly mushy, sectiony lines, with a few workable ones on the small wave gear.  Most Redondo Beach spots are running about knee-high, with the top combo breaks pulling some thigh-high waves, with maybe even a few plus sets.

Checking the tide—at 9:26 a.m., it will drop to a 1.3-foot low, which will have some spots on the slow side throughout mid-morning. The tide will then climb to a 5.2-foot high at 4:26 p.m.

If you're in need of a salt water bath, throw on no more than a spring suit, with the water temperature averaging between a nice 65 and 68 degrees. Good luck out there!
