Surf Report: Small Waves Abound

Get out the small wave gear!

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report.

Well, we're basically back to small mode, with the occasional playful-sized wave to be had. So, you'll want to get out the small wave gear, depending on where you're paddling!

The conditions are starting off nice and clean this morning, with a mixture of energy out there. We've got some remnant northwest windswell and some south-southwest groundswell in the background.

That recipe is making for some fairly broken-up lines, with some fun steep sections to snag.  Most Redondo Beach spots are pulling knee- to waist-high waves, with the standout combo breaks seeing an occasional bigger one.

Taking a look at the tide—at 10:55 a.m. it drops to a 0.4 low, which will have many breaks lacking water and behaving inconsistently mid- to late-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 4.5 high at 5:49 p.m.

If you're going to grab a session, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees. Have fun out there!
