Surf Report: Wait for the Tide

Look for a fun window once that tide fills in!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, our run of fun size surf is sticking around for another day.  So, if you want to get a jump start on your weekend, go get wet!

The conditions are looking pretty clean early on, with mostly a modest amount of southerly swell and just a tiny amount of leftover northwest energy. That recipe is offering this neck of the woods with some fast semi-wally lines, with some nice steep shoulders to pick off. That shape should improve once that tide fills in.

Most Redondo Beach spots are running about waist- to chest-high, with the focal points that pick up the most southerly energy seeing some shoulder-high and higher sets.

At 6:28 a.m., the tide drained out to a -1.0 low, which will have many spots in need of water early- to mid-morning. It eventually pushes up to a 3.8 high at 1:12 p.m.

If you're going to grab a session, a 3/2 fullsuit will do you right, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!
