Surf Report: Waves Uninviting

It's not very inviting!

Good Tuesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report.  Well, this late spring storm isn't bringing us much in the way of waves. Yep, we're looking at mostly small energy along this stretch of sand.

The conditions are starting off fairly clean, with some spots seeing some texture on it. However, it's likely those conditions are going to deteriorate sooner than later.  As far as the surf goes—we've got some pretty minor northwest windswell and not much south-southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is making for some crumbly and dumpy lines, with a few decent shoulders to pick off on the small wave gear.  Most spots in Redondo Beach are running about knee to thigh high, with the focal points pulling some waist high waves.

Checking the tides—at 10:21 a.m. it climbs up to a 4.1 high, which will have some spots a bit full and soft mid-morning. The tide then drops to a 1.6 low at 3:22 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 59 and 61 degrees.  Good luck out there.

County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the likelihood of increased bacterial levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
