Surf Report: Weak Waves

Low tide: 1.0 feet, 10:54 a.m. High tide: 4.5 feet, 5:50 p.m. Temperature: 58-60 degrees.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're looking at mostly minimal energy along this stretch of sand, so you might have to do some driving in order to find a worthwhile wave.

We're seeing some nice and clean conditions from the start. As far as the surf goes, we don't have much energy left out there. We're seeing a minor amount of south-southwest energy and some traces of the northwest swell in the water.

That recipe is offering some fairly weak and crumbly lines, with a few workable ones on the small wave gear. Most spots in Redondo Beach are seeing knee-high waves, with the focal points pulling thigh- to waist-high sets.

Checking the tides—at 10:54 a.m. it drops to a 1.0-foot low, which will have some spots needing water mid to late morning.  The tide then climbs back up to a 4.5-foot high at 5:50 p.m.

If you're in need of a salt water bath, a 3/2 fullsuit will do the job, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees.  Good luck out there!
