City Offices, Banks to Close for July 4th

Banks, post offices, city hall and other businesses will close for Independence Day. Street sweeping and refuse collection will also be on a different schedule.

Government offices, courts, schools, libraries, banks and post offices across the South Bay will be closed Wednesday for Independence Day.

In Redondo Beach, both the and libraries will be closed, as will city hall.

Refuse and recycling collection in Redondo will be delayed by one day started Wednesday for the rest of the week, according to a notice posted on the city's website.

There will be no street sweeping—or street-sweeping tickets—on Wednesday, according to the city. Street sweeping will resume Thursday on its regular schedule.

Despite the holiday, Beach Cities Transit will still be operating; however, due to the , all three routes will be detoured, and will not stop near the from 5:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m.
