Female Pedestrian Killed in South Torrance Crash
A 79-year-old woman was struck by a car on PCH at Calle Mayor and later died, resulting in a Friday morning road closure.
Friday morning’s PCH closure at Calle Mayor was due to the death of a 79-year-old pedestrian who was struck by an SUV. The Daily Breeze reports the accident occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m. when the woman who was in a crosswalk was hit by a 2014 Ford Explorer. It is unclear whether the driver or the pedestrian had the green light.
The woman was taken to a hospital and later died. Her identity is being withheld until relatives are notified.
