Officials ID Motorcyclist Who Died in Torrance Wreck

Dustin Courtney died Tuesday after he collided with a car at Skypark Drive and Garnier Street in Torrance.

Authorities on Friday identified a motorcyclist who was fatally injured in a collision with a car in Torrance.

The 23-year-old man—identified by the coroner's office as Dustin Courtney of Anaheim—died at a hospital of injuries he suffered about 7 a.m. Tuesday at Skypark Drive and Garnier Street, Torrance police Lt. Stephen D'anjou said.

Courtney was riding a 2005 Yamaha R1 motorcycle west on Skypark Drive when it collided with a 2005 Toyota Camry eastbound on Skypark Drive and turning left onto Garnier Street, D'anjou said.

The car was driven by a 59-year-old woman, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Her name was not released.
