Hawthorne Boulevard Road Work to End Tuesday Morning

Residents planning to head north on Hawthorne Boulevard on Monday night should expect heavy traffic and consider a detour if their route takes them past Del Amo Boulevard, according to an alert from the Torrance Police Department.

The Nos. 1-3 lanes will be closed for repaving operations, police said.

The closures, which will be on the northbound side of the street between Del Amo Boulevard to 190th Street, are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and last through 6 a.m. Tuesday.

"Through traffic and left hand turning movements onto or off of side streets will be temporarily prohibited across Hawthorne Boulevard during active paving operations," which are scheduled to begin at about 10 p.m., according to the alert.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
