Friday's sparkling sunset stopped foot traffic on the Esplanade in South Redondo Beach with its brilliance as dozens of people stopped to take photos of and admire the phenomenon.
The incredible colors come from light reflecting off particulate matter in the air from the Colby Fire near Glendora.
