Tickets Go on Sale Wednesday to See the Dalai Lama at the Forum

The theme will be nonviolence and the effects of compassion in the 21st Century.

Tickets to hear the Dalai Lama talk about social integrity during a Feb. 25 appearance at the Forum will go on sale tomorrow.

“The public talk will focus on sharing the value of social integrity,” according to Lama Tenzin Dhonden, personal peace emissary to the 14th Dalai Lama. “The theme will be nonviolence and the effects of compassion in the 21st Century. It is hoped His Holiness' words will make a significant contribution to minimizing the stresses people face in today's world, where financial, environmental and social conflicts are constant.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow through Ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. The refurbished Forum can hold up to 17,500 people.

The 14th Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his nonviolent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. He is also the first Nobel Laureate to be recognized for his concern for global environmental problems. He was awarded the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal in 2007.

The appearance in Los Angeles is part of a four-day California swing, with other appearances planned in San Francisco, Berkeley and Santa Clara, according to his official schedule.
