Hi Shari, There is a neighborhood watch program in Redondo Beach. You can find out more here:Read More http://www.redondo.org/depts/police/crime/neighborhood_watch.asp Thank you for the story idea!
Henry Xavier May 9, 2013 at 11:48 pm
I know, your right. "we" need some support too! Anyways just do common sense practices.Read More Lock your doors lock your bicycles in the covered garage, use outside lighting and use signs in the back yard "under camera surveillance" Have a camera hooked up in back yard. And know your neighbors, by introducing your self every six months about theft prevention. good luck. Henry : )
Shari Twidwell May 9, 2013 at 03:39 pm
Is there a Neighborhood Watch program in Redondo Beach anywhere? Or a program like NeighborhoodRead More Watch? Might be great to have a story on that and get more folks involved so we can bring down the theft frequency in our neighborhoods....

Glad they caught the scum bag! I used to live on Ave D. Most of us had dogs, and all of us wereRead More vigilant!!!!
Josh May 9, 2013 at 12:22 pm
Nothing against the Redondo Beach police force, but it actually seems a vigilant neighbor and theRead More Torrance police were doing the protecting. Does Ms.Jeffreys hate them too ?
Kelly Sarkisian May 7, 2013 at 08:09 pm
The Redondo police are protecting the city from people like the guy in the article. The votersRead More should ask Jan Jeffreys (district 4 candidate) about why she hates the police/firefighters so much. Is it because she asked for and didnt get their endorsement? Jan will not support the local cops/firefighters who protect the residents. It's time to choose Public safety or Jan...

Finishing 29th, 57th & 41st in Pro Beach Volleyball events, does not make you a ProfessionalRead More Beach Volleyball Player. Wish they wouldn't have called him a Pro in this article.

This guy was also looking for a room to rent on Craigslist. He may or may not have been actuallyRead More looking.
Wolfman April 27, 2013 at 12:39 am
also our new sex laws make it very complicated for consenting adults who change their minds beforeRead More and after the act

Nicole is right. The coroner's office wasn't releasing his name until his relatives were notified.
Nicole Mooradian (Editor) April 17, 2013 at 05:25 am
I believe it took that much time to find and notify his next of kin. His ID was just released to theRead More public.
Stu April 17, 2013 at 03:16 am
It took two weeks to ID the deceased and he had his wallet on him?
Henry Xavier April 16, 2013 at 06:39 pm
thx Nicole. I understand "we the people" sorta get frustrated over things like this butRead More this website is not for "who's right". I think if we keep it sort and simple maybe we can all get along. You might try other websites that might take jack and tims p.o.v. in better terms. thank you Nicole. Or just bounce them out with a warning. one week suspension next time 2 week suspension, and etc. so we can all have some say without anger. this is not the place to do it "guys". H.X.

"Reaping what they sowed." Yeah, you aren't inflammatory at all, are ya, sport?
Tim Sole April 16, 2013 at 01:27 pm
Jack, I am not a member of the NRA, nor do I watch the news, I do know who "Sean Hannity"Read More is, although I don't know what he stands for, nor do I care. You are right on one thing, I do go after extremists. Both sides of the aisle has them, it just so happens, that the left side is now reaping what they sowed.

Oh my God! He crashed right in front of my girlfriend Kelly Taylor's house! I hope her roommatesRead More Donna Martin, and David Silver weren't hurt!

A black 2015 Honda pickup 150, license plate No. 21G8074, was stolen Sunday morning from the 700Read More block of North Pacific Coast Highway. They'll never find a 2015 model!

It wasn't a total loss. The dingy is still floating. They can still enjoy the water this summer.

I bet there was a discussion between who was right and who was wrong about how hard those rocks onRead More the break wall are. I think they were harder than they looked.

Street Cloths are the common definition of non-beach (swim trunks) or not dress cloths. Please haveRead More respect for the gentleman who lost his life on Tuesday. I am positive he and his family do not want to hear bickering about grammar. The deceased could of hit his head anywhere between where he parked and the beach. Any person who has medical knowledge knows that loss of conciseness does not always happen right away. Trumatic Brain Injuries can at times take days weeks or months for the patient to show symptoms.

My personal favorite of all this is the exemption that cops get from the law. You will almost neverRead More see a cop without a phone in his/her hand while driving and smile on his/her face, indicating quite clearly it's a personal call - not business. The exemption was put in for business calls only, but, who's gonna bust a cop? Another cop? I doubt it.

Good. I am looking forward to seeing idiot drivers pulled to the side of the road getting ticketsRead More for...well...acting like morons. I see it all the time still, even after the new law was implemented. Stupid, ignorant people talking or texting on their cell phones. Sheer idiocy! I was behind a young woman on Crenshaw Boulevard several weeks ago and became irritated when she kept slowing down considerably as well as drifting into the other lanes. Finally, when we arrived at the intersection of Crenshaw and Lomita Boulevards, I could actually see her head angled down for the entire time she was at the light. Well, while we had all come to a stop at that light, a Sheriff's vehicle pulled up on my right hand side and he and I looked at each other. I buzzed my window down and he rolled his down and I told him about the driver in front of me. He said he had been behind me and thought that it was ME who had been causing the odd slow then fast then slow traffic. I pointed out the car and the driver and he said that he would pull her over. I was in the left turn lane and didn't get to revel in seeing her get her ticket...but I watched as the lights turned green and he got in behind her and set upon her with his lights and siren. I was pleasantly pleased. People, it is an easy thing to shut your phone down or ignore it. If you can't ignore the phone and you are in a safe place to PULL over, then do that instead! Save lives, and the costs of higher insurance rates and legal fees.

Kathy, you had better take a closer look as a lot of this stuff goes unreported

The lady from South Redondo Beach did right! Unlike some of the victims who lost money to theRead More scammers yet still, managed to share a warning at http://www.callercenter.com . the lady did the most practical thing by calling other family members to confirm the news.

Kathy S. - Where did you get your information that the fight at Perry Park broke out during aRead More basketball game?

I was victimized earlier this month, I do not know how this person used my credit card at StoneridgeRead More Mall near San Francisco...my card is in my wallet and its not new and I have never misplaced it. Lucky for me my bank new something wasn't kosher and blocked my card after they made $300 worth of purchases at Forever 21 and Macys. The scumbags tried 2 more times, $100 a piece at Macys again and that is when it was blocked. I loathe these type of lowlifes and I am happy to hear that something was done for these victims.
Dawn Artinger April 24, 2013 at 02:46 pm
I'm glad these scum criminals were caught!
