This large complex has been located in Aviation Park since 2003. It has an artistic and streamlined look with a circularMore section on the top. The performance space has 1,453 seats and great acoustics. The center promotes the cultural arts and is home to the LA Ballet. The Performing Arts Center is only open when there is an event.

The Redondo Beach Playhouse offers cultural arts classes, camps and workshops for the community. Though the 126-seatMore theater, which is owned by the local school district, has been closed intermittently for the past few years due to budget cuts, it still occasionally hosts performances and events.
City of Redondo Beach: Redevelopment Agency

Established in 1962, the Redondo Beach Redevelopment Agency consists of the Mayor and the members of the City CouncilMore with the City Manager serving as the executive director/secretary, the City Attorney as the counsel, the City Treasurer as the treasurer, and the City staff as the Agency staff . Its mission is to rehabilitate devastated areas in the city as a public entity.</p> <p>The Agency has contributed vastly to the redevelopment of the public buildings, such as the Main Library and the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, through the state tax increment financing program.</p> <p>The Agency currently has three project areas: Aviation High School; Harbor Center; South Bay Center. It meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.</p>

The Recreation and Community Services Department aims to enrich and improve the quality of life in Redondo Beach byMore providing various programs, services and facilities. Recreational programs include classes, camps, adult sports leagues, afeter school and summer playgrounds, summer swim and performing arts for the disabled, teens and senior citizens.</p> <p>The Department manages 14 parks in the city (Alta Vista, Anderson, Andrews, Aviation, Czuleger, Dominguez, Franklin, Fluton Playfield, Lilenthal, Perry, Seaside Lagoon, Veterans, Vincent, Hopkins Wilderness) and community facilities including, the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, Knob Hill Community Center, Historical Museum and the Veterans Park Community Center.  Click <a href="http://www.redondo.org/mm/parks/parks.htm">here</a> for the Interactive Parks Map.</p> <p>The Department also admnistrates federal and state grants that fund housing services, job training and placement services, counseling for youth and parenting classes and hosts Redondo Beach Farmers Market every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans Park.</p> <p>The Recreation and Parks Commission meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.</p>

Pacific Dance Center

Pacific Dance Center is part of the Redondo Plaza cluster of studios and schools focused on performing arts. It can beMore tricky to find, so it's best to ignore the corner parking and go around<i> </i>the center to the North parking area. The entrance to the studio is under a sign that reads Gloria's Massage. The two practice rooms can accommodate up to 20 students and private lessons are also available. It is open from Monday to Saturday, but hours vary depending on classes. For more information on hours, check the Web site.
