Hermosa Beach Pier

Greetings all!
I wanted to let you know that I will be holding the second annual <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/you-are-enough-5k-runwalk-tickets-791646765787?utm-campaign=social&amp;utm-content=attendeeshare&amp;utm-medium=discovery&amp;utm-term=listing&amp;utm-source=cp&amp;aff=ebdsshcopyurl" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">You Are Enough 5K Eventbrite Sign-Up</a> on May 5th in Hermosa Beach. The walk/run/skate/bike/skip event route is from the Hermosa Beach Pier to the Manhattan Beach Pier and back and costs $40 per each participant. Children under 12 are welcome to attend for free.
This year the LA County Department of Mental Health played a huge role in the event by giving me a grant enabling me to pay for the marketing expenses. The goal of the mental health walk/run is to bring people together to remind us that we are not alone and can have a support system when we do not feel worthy. One of the goals is to come together to fight the stigma attached to mental health and to realize that we all deal with not feeling worthy in our lives. 
I started the movement under my non-profit, Giving Purpose Organization, a few months prior to the Covid lockdown because I knew that depression was the number one disability in our country and that loneliness is an epidemic. Note, this was before the pandemic. My goal back then was to raise a billboard that simply says YOU ARE ENOUGH on it with no advertising in every state of the country before the 2020 election. Well this dream did not come true due to the pandemic and I knew that I needed to focus on the South Bay Community first. So, after four years and 1300 billboards throughout the nation, the movement has begun. 
A lot of people ask me what do the words YOU ARE ENOUGH mean and why do I want to put them on billboards. My main answer is that the words are a gentle reminder that we are enough, just as we are. But, you can lean into the words any way that you want. The billboards are saving lives, helping people gain confidence to leave bad situations, and simply helping people feel that they are worthy, seen, and supported. I also sell merchandise and am holding events such as the 5K to bring people together for the cause.
