Letter: AES Pollution Would Render Sports Facilities Useless

Resident Lori Zaremski writes that a new power plant in Redondo Beach would render the new Sea Hawk Pavilion at Redondo Union High School useless.

With great sadness and concern I attended the at . How can the Redondo Beach City Council and the celebrate the completion of the new sports facility in a haze of air pollution?

If AES is allowed to build the new , the poor air quality will make it UNHEALTHY for RUHS students, visiting athletes and the South Bay swim teams to utilize this beautiful facility. The increase in air pollution will render the expensive new sports pavilion useless.

Has our bond money been wasted? The inconsistency in claiming to value a high quality of life in Redondo Beach while silently supporting AES by a lack of opposition is astounding!
