Old Car Wash on Pacific Coast Highway Demolished
Plans for the parcel of land call for the construction of an animal hospital.
Demolition has begun on the old self-service car wash at 1930 S. Pacific Coast Hwy. in South Redondo Beach.
A state-of-the-art animal hospital will be built on the parcel, according to documents from the Redondo Beach Department of Community Development.
Plans for the animal hospital were unanimously approved during the April meeting of the Redondo Beach Planning Commission, according to meeting minutes.
The site has been vacant for some time. A larger animal hospital had previously been approved for the site in 2008; however, it was never built. The carwash's business license expired in 1998.
