The public is invited to attend funeral services for former Redondo Beach Councilman John Parsons, who died Thursday morning after suffering a stroke. Services will be held at American Martyrs Church, located at 624 15th Street in Manhattan Beach, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30.
A reception will immediately follow at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, located at 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
Funeral attendees are asked to wear Tommy Bahama or Hawaiian shirts, or tropical-inspired business attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Redondo Beach Rotary Club's John Parsons Scholarship Fund. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 411, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
